Appendix C - Spindle Entry Codes and SMC/SRC Values
When using a standard Brookeld Digital Viscometer, each spindle has a two digit entry code
which is entered via the keypad on the DVE. e entry code allows the DVE to calculate Viscosity.
Each spindle has two constants which are used in these calculations. e Spindle Multiplier
Constant (SMC) used for viscosity and shear stress calculations, and the Shear Rate Constant
(SRC), used for shear rate and shear stress calculations.
