Press the RANGE key to accept the currently displayed Options and Visc Units screen.
e About screen presents the information seen on the start up screen including viscometer name,
viscometer model (LV, RV, HA, HB or other), the rmware version of the viscometer operating
system, as well as the diagnostics screens with calibration parameters.

e Enter Service screen is utilized by Brookeld and Brookeld servicing dealers. ere is no
customer use within this screen.

e Visc Units screen displays the currently set viscosity units. e factory setting is cP. To change
the Visc Units, press the spindle up or down key to scroll to the required units. Press the RANGE
key to accept the change and return to the Default screen.

DVELV Viscometers are provided with a set of four spindles and a narrow guard leg; DVERV
Viscometers are provided with a set of six spindles and a wider guard leg; DVEHA and DVEHB
Viscometers come with a set of six spindles and no guard leg (see Appendix F for more information
on the guard leg).
e spindles are attached to the viscometer by screwing them onto the coupling nut on the lower
sha (see Figure II-6). Note that the spindles have a le-handed thread. e lower sha should
be secured and slightly lied with one hand while screwing the spindle to the le. e face of the
spindle nut and the matching surface on the lower sha should be smooth and clean to prevent
eccentric rotation of the spindle. Spindles can be identied by the number on the side of the spindle
coupling nut.
e DVE requires a spindle entry code number to calculate viscosity values. e two-digit code for
each spindle can be found in Appendix D.
