5 - 7 SETUP RECEIVE
To transfer telephone call to the FAX/MFC
When you pick up the voice call at remote DECT cordless phone and would like to
transfer it to the FAX/MFC,
1 Press Activation Voice Code 8 1 at remote cordless phone.
2 The FAX/MFC rings (pseudo-ring same as current F/T ring) and the display shows
“PICK UP PHONE”.
3 Pick up the handset and press Hook or Speaker Phone—OR—just press
Speaker Phone at the FAX/MFC in order to transfer the voice call to the FAX/
MFC.
Changing Remote Codes
Remote Codes might not work with some telephone systems. The preset Activation
Code is 5 1. The preset Deactivation Code is # 5 1. The present Activation Voice
Code is 8 1.
1 Press Menu/Set, 2, 4.
2 Press or to select ON (or OFF) and press
Menu/Set.
3 If you want to, enter a new Remote Activation
Code, then press Menu/Set.
4 If you want to, enter a new Remote Deactivation
Code, then press Menu/Set.
5 If you want to, enter a new Activation Voice Code,
then press Menu/Set.
6 Press Stop to exit.
Don’t hang up the call from the cordless phone until the voice call has been
transferred to the FAX/MFC. You will know when this is because you will no longer
be able to hear or talk to the caller via the cordless phone. If you do not wait until this
point before hanging up from the cordless phone, the call will be lost.
If nobody answers at the FAX/MFC, pseudo-ringing stops after 30 seconds. In that
case, it may still be possible to speak with the caller from the cordless phone. Speech
between the FAX/MFC and the cordless phone (= intercom) is not possible.
If you are always disconnected when accessing your external TAD remotely, try
changing the Activation Code from 5 1 to # # # and the Deactivation Code from
# 5 1 to 1 1 1. You cannnot use the same number for the Activation Code, the
Deactiation Code and Activation Voice Code.
