Connecting the MFC

Release the scanner lock lever.
A) Press the blue scanner cover release button on the right side of the
MFC and lift the scanner cover until it locks in the open position.

B) The blue scanner lock lever is on the back left under side of the
scanner cover. Push the lever up to unlock the scanner.

Caution
If CHECK SCAN LOCK appears on the LCD, immediately release the
scanner lock lever. If you see MACHINE ERROR AF (or AE), stop
operation and contact your Brother dealer for service.
Caution
Operating the MFC before you install the ink cartridges will permanently
damage the print head.
