Single Force Specimen Holder
With a single force specimen holder, one, two, three, or four specimens can be prepared at one
time and a determined force is applied to each individual specimen. Individual specimens can be
easily removed and examined as each preparation stage is completed.
Single force specimen holders are recommended when preparing specimens on a limited basis.
1. Raise the outer sleeve of the lift-type chuck. The power head is equipped with a lift-type
specimen holder chuck.
2. Insert the pin of the adaptor mounted on the specimen holder into the chuck.
3. Rotate the specimen holder slightly until the adaptor drive-pin engages in the chuck.
4. Let the chuck sleeve drop back into place.
5. Lock the specimen holder in place using the knurled locking ring located on the specimen
holder.
6. Tighten the knurled locking ring lock screw to secure the locking ring.
The single force specimen holder must be locked rigidly in place to prevent
unsatisfactory specimen preparation results.
