4.1 Braking
•
To slow down, simply release the throttle.
•
To brake, do not pull the brake lever abruptly.
•
The brake lever activates the rear disk brake and initiates proportional
hub motor braking.
•
Gradually apply increasing pressure to the brake lever.
Braking efficiency reduced due to wet or slippery conditions.
Risk of serious injury.
Allow extra stopping distance in wet or slippery conditions.
•
Do not tighten your brake cable more than necessary at the brake calliper.
•
Avoid locking the wheels through excessive brake pressure, this may cause a loss
of control and balance.
•
Never touch the brake disc with your fingers after using the brake system, as this
will be very hot and may cause burns.
•
Before each use, ensure the rear brake is in good working order.
•
Damaged, frayed or rusty cables must be replaced immediately.
•
Apply a suitable cable lubricant to brake cables every 3 months, to ensure freedom
of movement.
•
Take care to ensure no oil or contaminants come into contact with brake disks and
brake pads.
