Duringtravel,theEVSdetects(viathecablefromtheswitchedcontactno.10
atthecouplingplug)whethervoltageisapplied,andthereforewhetherthe
generatorisrunning.Ifvoltageisavailable,thevoltageboosterwillprovidean
outputof14.2 V tothesupplybattery,andtherefrigeratoroutputisenabled.
If,afterswitchingofftheengineofthetowingvehicle,nomorevoltageisbeing
appliedtocontact10,thevoltageboostershutsdownandtherefrigeratoris
turnedoff. Thispreventsthestarterbatterydischargingthroughthesupply
batteryandtherefrigerator. Thestartingcapabilityofthestarterbatteryisthus
conserved.Ifthecouplingplugisdisconnectedfromthetowingvehicle,the
EVSdesignensuresthattheplugcontactscannotconductvoltagefrom
thecaravanbattery.
