Install lter into the lter canisterStep 6.
Note: Make sure you have removed and soaked the spa lter cartridge in a bucket of water for at least
30 minutes. This will remove air pockets inside of the lter.
When re installing the lter cartridge, do not over tighten the lter, the threaded bit inside of the lter
housing is made of a corrosion resistant ABS plastic. Excessive torque will break the internal threads
within the lter housing.
Test and Adjust Water ChemistryStep 7.
Test and adjust the water chemistry.
After a period of 5-15 minutes the priming mode will nish. The heater will then activate, put the spa
cover on and let the spa heat to the desired set temperature.
During the initial power up the spa, it will consume a large amount of energy to raise the water in the
tub to your desired hot tub temperature. Cal Spas are designed for high eciency, once the temperature
within the spa is reached, the spa will use lower amounts of energy to maintain the temperature.
Note: Cal Spas are designed to retain heat, if it is desired to lower the water temperature the spa does not
contain a cooling feature. To lower internal temperature of the spa, lower the set temperature on the con-
trol panel and open the tub during the evening or night to help release the heat captured within. You may
also drain 1/4 of the water within and rell with new water to lower temperatures rapidly.
