Tether Operation
There are two models of tether interface available: the DRX-TPC1 Tether Interface,
designed to be used with exams that require the detector to come in contact with the
patient, and the CARESTREAM DRX-1 System Tether Interface, which is not used when a
patient must come in contact with the detector during an exam. See Figure 12, Patient
Vicinity. It shows a diagram of the distance and boundaries for medical and non-medical
equipment as they relate to the patient.
DRX-1 System Tether Interface
Caution
Do not allow the detector to come in direct contact with a patient while in Tether mode when
using the DRX-1 System Tether Interface.
Use this tether to connect the detector to the system when:
The detector is located inside a Bucky (DRX-1 and DRX-1C System Detectors only)
or other device that prevents direct patient contact
The detector is not being used for an exam
DRX-TPC1 Tether Interface
Caution
Only the model DRX-TPC1 Tether Interface may be connected to a detector that will come in
contact with the patient.
The DRX-TPC1 Tether Interface may be identified as follows:
Blue wrapping on the tether cable
Plastic tether box enclosure
Round plastic tether cable connector
Class II mark on the DRX-1 System Tether Interface Data Plate label
