Cap. 2 INSTALLATION
2.1 MOVING THE MACHINE
The machine must be used only by personnel who are experts in the use of lifting equipment.
Given that the base of the machine is palletized, it is advisable to move it using a forklift truck or a pallet truck.
To prevent injuries to persons or damage to objects while moving the machine, it should be secured to the
forklift truck with cables or other suitable systems.
The machine can also be lifted using cables, belts or harnesses, with a minimum lifting capacity of 1500 kg
each, hooked on to the machine as shown in Fig. 2.1.1.
The lifting hoist must have a lifting capacity of at least 1500 kg.
2.2 POSITIONING THE MACHINE
Depending on the type of transport, the machine is protected by a heat-shrink lm, by cardboard, or by a
wooden crate. Some machine components are always dismantled for transport. For details on the assembly
and adjustments of these components, see Chap. 2.3.
Place the machine in suitable position, considering both its overall dimensions and the size of the workpieces
to be processed, stacked, loaded and ofoaded, and also leaving sufcient space for the machine operator.
(see Fig. 1.8.1).
The machine base must rest on a solid, uniform and well levelled surface.
Use a spirit level or some other reliable levelling instrument to check that the worktable is level in both
horizontal directions. Tolerance ± 0.25 mm longitudinally.
It is advisable to x the machine to the oor using the four holes in the lower part of the base.
