2.4 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Connections must be made by a specialist electrical installer.
Check that the available power supply voltage corresponds to the operating voltage for which the machine
was designed, as indicated on the nameplate applied to the machine base.
Connect 380/415/440 V power using a 5-pole cable (3 phases + neutral + ground).
Connect the three phases to the L1-L2-L3 terminals, neutral to the N1 terminal, and the ground wire to the
PE terminal.
Use a 5X2.5 cable for connections, suitable for the total power installed.
Connect 220/240 V power using a 4-pole cable, with the three phases connected to the L1-L2-L3 terminals
and the ground wire to the PE terminal.
Use a 4X2.5 cable for connections, suitable for the total power installed.
CAUTION:
Continuous uctuations of ± 20% in the power supply voltage may cause operating problems in some
electronic components and systems.
Incorrect electrical connections (for example, the phase and neutral lines reversed, or neutral not
connected) can irreparably damage the inverter, heating elements, PLC and motors.
It is absolutely prohibited to connect the neutral line to ground.
The power supply system must have efcient neutral and ground lines. Pass the power supply cable through
cable clamp B (Fig. 2.4.1).
Connect the power supply cable to the appropriate terminals (Fig. 2.4.2). Close the electrical panel.
Check for correct rotation direction using the starting procedure (see Chap. 3.10 CHAIN PANEL
FEEDER
UNIT):
- Start the panel feed chain with a short impulse, using button 6 (Fig. 3.1.1 Chap. 3.1. The chain will start
moving only when the glue pot has reached the correct temperature.
The chain must turn in the same direction as panel advance.
If it does not, invert two of the three phases (L1, L2, L3, Fig. 2.4.2).
For all operations regarding fuses, the electrical box on the machine base must be accessed.
T
o reach the electrical box, open its protection cover (see Chap. 3) using the wrench supplied.
These operations must be carried out in conditions of maximum safety, interrupting the power supply
before proceeding with work of any kind.
