Chap. 1 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 MACHINE IDENTIFICATION
This manual refers to the model E550 automatic edgebander with chain feed and glue pot.

The manufacturer’s address and other machine data are indicated on the nameplate attached to the main
machine body (Fig. 1.1.1)
For all problems regarding your machine, consult your local dealer or assistance service, providing the
following information:
-Machine model
-Serial number
-Purchase date
-Approximate number of hours of operation
-Description of the problem, together with all other information that may help to identify a suitable solution
Carry out only the adjustments and maintenance operations expressly indicated in this manual. Operations
not expressly indicated in this manual must be carried out only by technical personnel authorized by the
manufacturer.
The manufacturer declines all liability for the consequences of operations carried out without the necessary
authorization.
1.2 WORK PROCESSES THAT CAN BE PERFORMED
The purpose of the machine is to apply edges to at engineered wood panels (chipboard, breboard,
plywood) with an automatic chain-feed advance movement and glue spread directly onto the panel, for edges
in plastic or wood up to a thickness of 3 mm* in coiled tapes, and 3 mm* in strips.
The machine also removes shavings and performs trimming at front and rear ends, ush trimming, edge
scraping,* glue scraping* and bufng* on both sides of the panel.

The machine is designed to perform only the operations indicated above, within the limits of dimensions
specied in the technical characteristics.
It is prohibited to use the machine with any type of material other than as indicated in this chapter. The
machine cannot apply edges on panels with edges cut at angles other than 90° (Fig. 1.1.2).
The machine must be installed in a workplace with a controlled temperature.
The temperature must never fall below 16°C. The panels to be edged must be kept at a temperature above
16°C for at least 2–3 hours before being edged.
If these conditions cannot be ensured, we strongly advise the purchase of the optional accessory for panel
preheating (infrared lamp).
