3.2.1 REPLACEMENT OF PADS ON CONVEYOR CHAIN
CAUTION!
Always put the machine into a condition of safety before accessing moving parts. You are reminded that all
maintenance operations on the machine and on tools must be carried out only by a specialized operator, and
that work gloves, clothing and footwear complying with work safety requirements must be worn.
To replace the rubber pads on the feed chain, the following tool is required:
- Flat-head screwdriver
Referring to Fig. 3.13e, proceed as follows:
1)
Remove the panel exit plate.
2) Move the pad to be replaced close to the motor pinion gear.
3) Use the screwdriver to gently raise the pad to be replaced.
4) Check that the new pad has the rounded prole facing outwards, in the same direction as the other
pads. The new pad must be preheated at a temperature of at least 25°C to avoid breakages.
5) Fit the new pads moving the feed chain forward manually, ensuring that the holes t correctly over the
xing pins. The correct position is conrmed by the sound of a click.
6) Replace the panel exit plate and check that it does not come into contact with the rubber pads.
3.2.2 CHAIN REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
CAUTION!

that work gloves, clothing and footwear complying with work safety requirements must be worn.
The chain can be opened only at the position of the split chain link.
- Slacken the chain by using nut D and screwing in screw V (Fig. 3.2A).
- To remove the chain, nd the rubber pad marked with one or more red dots (see Fig. 3.13f).
- Remove the rubber pad as indicated in the previous section.
- Extract the split link and remove the chain.
- Proceed in the reverse order to replace and reassemble the chain.
- Check for correct chain tension: The chain is correctly tightened when it is impossible to lift it manually
more than 15–20 mm from the central position (Fig. 3.2A).
CAUTION: Excessive tightening may irreparably damage the chain.
- Lubricate the chain using AGIP GR MU EP 1 grease or an equivalent product (see technical
information sheet in the attachments).
