Tool replacement/sharpening
To replace the scraping unit blades, remove locking devices C1 (Fig.3.11a).
Remove scraping blade E by slackening screw V. To reassemble the scraping blade, follow the se-
quence in reverse, keeping the blade rmly pressed into its recess.
Maintenance: cleaning and lubrication.
Constantly check (even several times daily) the scraping unit and any edge chips that might interfere
with correct operation and/or movements.
Remove all glue residues from the blades and copiers, using products that dissolve the glue, such
as for example “WD 40”® or “CRC”®. Never use steel tools such as screwdrivers or wrenches to
clean the scraping blades.
Check that the blowers for shaving elimination are always operating efciently. Clean the sliding
guides of the unit with compressed air, and lubricate them.

EDGE SCRAPER EXTRACTION (optional)
Edge scraper extraction facilitates the removal of shavings from the operating area of the edge scra-
ping unit and prevents the dispersal of shavings into the machine compartment.
Check that the collection box is not full, as this could affect the efciency of the edge scraper.
If necessary empty the box manually (Fig. 3.11b).
