3.13 BRUSHES (OPTIONAL)
Description of unit
The unit is composed of:
Upper brush
A Brush
B Motor
C Support on pressure bar
D Position locking screw
Lower brush
H Brush
I Motor
F Position locking screw
Operation
The purpose of the bufng unit is to polish the edge as soon as it has been milled or trimmed by the
scraping. Each unit uses a triple-phase motor. The rotation speed of the brushes is 2900 rpm.
The brushes rotate in the same direction as the panel feeds.
The standard version of the machine is tted with an upper and a lower brushes, which can be an-
gled up to about 10°.
The upper bufng unit is xed to the pressure bar, and is therefore regulated automatically according
to variations in the thickness of the panel to be edged.
The parameters to be observed in the choice of brushes are as follows:
- maximum permitted diameter 150 mm
- xing shaft diameter 20 mm
- maximum weight for each brush 200 g
- maximum rotation speed 1500 rpm
Adjustment
Lower brush -slacken locking screws F (Fig. 3.13)
-position and/or tilt the brush to the desired position
-
when the desired position has been reached, tighten screws F upper brush -slacken locking screws D
-position and/or tilt the brush to the desired position
-when the desired position has been reached, fully tighten screws D
Warnings:
-an excessive quantity of glue not only dirties the ush trimmer unit, but can also damage the bru-
shes and make them unserviceable.
-the brushes must be adjusted with a slight pressure on the edge to be polished.
Excessive pressure can overstrain the motors without ensuring a satisfactory nish. To exclude the
brushes, it is sufcient not to start them with button 8.
