MAINTENANCE & LUBRICATION
109
CAUTION
• When checking the front brake fluid level, make sure the master cylinder reservoir is level by
turning the handlebar until the steering is centered and the wheels are forward.
• Use only the designated quality brake uid. Otherwise, the rubber seals may deteriorate, causing
leakage and poor brake performance.
• Recommended brake uid: DOT4.
• Rell the same type of brake uid. Mixing uids may result in a harmful chemical reaction and lead
to poor brake performance.
• Be careful that water should not enter the master cylinder reservoir when refilling. Water will
signicantly lower the boiling point of the uid and may result in vapor lock.
• Brake uid may damage painted surfaces or plastic parts. Always clean up spilled uid immediately.
• Have your dealer check the cause if the brake uid level goes down quickly or frequently.
