MAINTENANCE & LUBRICATION
109
CAUTION
When checking the front brake fluid level, make sure the master cylinder reservoir is level by
turning the handlebar until the steering is centered and the wheels are forward.
Use only the designated quality brake uid. Otherwise, the rubber seals may deteriorate, causing
leakage and poor brake performance.
Recommended brake uid: DOT4.
Rell the same type of brake uid. Mixing uids may result in a harmful chemical reaction and lead
to poor brake performance.
Be careful that water should not enter the master cylinder reservoir when refilling. Water will
signicantly lower the boiling point of the uid and may result in vapor lock.
Brake uid may damage painted surfaces or plastic parts. Always clean up spilled uid immediately.
Have your dealer check the cause if the brake uid level goes down quickly or frequently.
