Practice Exercises
Before you go out for a ride, it is very important to familiarize yourself with the handling of your vehicle by
practicing in a controlled environment
Under the protection of a parent or guardian, nd a suitable area to practice and perform the following
exercises. It should be at terrain, and free of obstacles like trees and large rocks.
If an incorrect driving technique is used, your ATV may continue to go straight. If the ATV does not turn,
slow the vehicle and then practice the procedure again. If the riding surface is slippery or loose, it may help
to transfer more of your weight to the front wheels by moving forward on the seat. Once you have learned
the proper techniques, you should be able to perform maneuvers at higher speeds or in tighter curves.
Improper driving procedures such as abrupt throttle changes, excessive braking, incorrect body
movements, or too much speed for the sharpness of the turn, may cause the ATV to tip. If the ATV begins
to tip over to the outside while turning, lean more to the inside. It may also be necessary to gradually
release the throttle and steer to the outside of the turn to avoid tipping over.
Remember: Avoid higher speeds until you are thoroughly familiar with the operation of your ATV
