Edition 1December 2019 SAFETY FIRST 121
MSA G1 Electronic Breathing Apparatus
Follow these steps to clean the BA.
Step Description Illustration
1 Cleaning: heavy soiling.
1.1 With the cylinder and mask still attached to the BA open the cylinder valve
fully.
The BA must remain pressurised during this process and the battery
inserted.
1.2 If the operator is not wearing the BA, close the cylinder valve.
Otherwise, the operator must remain in full PPC, breathing air from the
cylinder.
1.3 Flush with clear flowing water to remove
large contaminates.
Do not use fine point high pressure water streams to clean the BA.
1.4 Clean hoses, cylinder valve assembly, pressure reducer and control module
by hand with a damp cloth to remove deposits.
1.5 If BA is still donned, remove it following the doffing procedures.
If not donned, release the air pressure via pressing the PURGE button.
Place the BA into SLEEP mode by pressing the green RESET button twice
within one second.
1.6 Air-dry the BA completely.
Do not dry in direct sun light.
2 Cleaning: light soiling.
2.1 Clean the BA manually using a damp cloth.
