2.6 White light on the power module flashes
once
3 The power module plays the start-up tone.
4 The screen displays the results of the self-test.
Icon Description
A successful self-test will display a white tick inside a green
box
to indicate the BA can be used.
If the self-test is successful, the BA is ready for use.
An icon showing a spanner inside yellow diamond may
appear at
the end of the self-test, indicating that maintenance
is required.
If this occurs, the BA should be removed from
service after use and returned to State PPE&C Management
Centre.
If the control module fails the self-test a white cross inside a
red
circle will be displayed accompanied by a full alarm signal
from
the piezo speakers.
An alarm code will be displayed below the red
circle. At this
point the control module will not continue to
operate.
The appearance of the maintenance icon when preparing to use the
BA
during an incident or fire does not preclude the use of the set.
The BA can be used at the incident or fire with confidence; however, upon
returning to station it should be taken out of service and sent for
service as
to State PPE&C Management Centre.
