MSA G1 Electronic Breathing Apparatus
If the BA fails the self-test, the operator should perform the following steps:
Step Description
1 Depressurise the BA by turning the cylinder off and pressing the purge
button.
2 PARK the demand valve by pressing the PARK button.
3 Remove the battery.
4 Wait five seconds to allow the system time to reset.
5 Reinsert the battery.
6 Pressurise the BA. It will re-attempt the self-test.
Results of the self-test will be shown.
7 If the self-test is successful, use the BA normally.
If the self-test is unsuccessful and the control module fails the self-test again:
depressurise the system;
PARK the demand valve;
remove the battery; and
send the BA to State PPE&C Management Centre for repair.
An alarm code will be displayed below the white cross inside the red circle (refer
Figure 22
).
The operator should note the code on the Out-of-service tag or fault report.
If the BA fails the self-test a second time, the BA
must not
be
used or put
into service.
The BA
must
be tagged and sent for service to State PPE&C
Management Centre.
