Air flow is optimised by:
continuous flushing of the visor to avoid fogging;
exhalation through a spring loaded exhalation valve;
reduced breathing resistance due to short distances between inhalation and
exhalation valves and operator;
no inhalation or exhalation resistance when demand valve is not attached.
