MSA G1 Electronic Breathing Apparatus
Sizes
The facemask is available in three sizes: small, medium and large. There are also
three nose cup sizes. Sizes can be identified by looking at the side of the facemask
and locating a S, M, or L.
Another way to identify the facemask size is by the tabs on the facemask buckles.
Small is designated green, medium is black and large is grey

The BA is issued with a medium sized mask as the standard.
A facemask fit test can determine the correct size for the operator. Please contact the
State PPE&C Management Centre for information about the Facemask Fitment
Procedure.
Prescription eye lense requirements
Operators that require prescription lenses for use with their BA are to refer to
the
organisational procedures for details on obtaining, replacing and maintaining
the lenses.
Only an approved spectacle insert can be used with the G1 E facemask.
Heads-up display
The heads-up display (HUD) consists of seven illuminated LEDs that can be viewed by
looking down while wearing the facemask when the BA is in active mode.
The symbols in the mask are as follows:
battery indicator symbol – bottom left;
running person (evacuation) symbol – middle (not in use);
triangle (warning) symbol – top right;
four circular pressure status indicators (green/yellow/red).
