Cylinder and Components
Edition 1December 2019 SAFETY FIRST 61
MSA G1 Electronic Breathing Apparatus
The speech diaphragm improves voice projection for clearer communications.
When in safe atmospheres with no demand valve attached, ambient air can be inhaled
directly through an open port which facilitates normal breathing and speaking with
minimal resistance. The speech diaphragm improves voice projection for clearer
communication.
Connecting or disconnecting the demand valve from the facemask is easily performed
with one hand.
The mask design allows for optimised airflow to avoid the mask fogging. The
incorporated spring-loaded exhalation valve assists with direct flow of exhaled breath to
the outside atmosphere.
Facemask head harness
The facemask has a five-point rubber head harness. To secure the mask to the wearer
adjustment tabs are tightened by starting with the two lower tabs (chin straps) then
middle tabs (temple) and finally the top tab (head strap).
