Checking Oil Level
FIG. 77: The dipstick (1) is located next to the engine oil
filter (2).
With the combine sitting on level ground, check oil level
every 10 hours of operation and replenish if necessary to
maintain the correct level on the dipstick (1).
Check oil level before starting engine. If engine has been
in operation, allow sufficient time for oil to drain into pan
before checking oil level.
NOTE: Insert dipstick securely.
Changing Engine Oil and Filters
The engine oil and both filters must be changed after the
first 50 hours of operation, then every 250 hours. If the
combine operates under heavy loads and extremely dusty
conditions, then the oil and filters must be changed at 125
hours. Always replace both the element filter and
centrifugal filter during every oil change.
FIG. 78: Engine oil drain hose (1) is located at the
left-hand rear of combine just in front of the rear axle.
While engine is warm, remove drain hose plug and drain
crankcase.
Replace drain hose plug.
FIG. 79: Replace the centrifugal filter canister located in
the centrifugal filter housing (1). The centrifugal filter
housing is located on the forward side of the engine, next
to the fuel filters (2).
