Chapter 3.Function of Interface
There are various interfaces on this backplane used for connecting to mainboard and getting
system operated. Also, there are some interfaces available for system debug and configuration
purposes. All the features and signal characteristics on the interfaces will be described below.
Caution should be paid carefully to make sure the electronical characteristic is appropriate
between two ends of cables when connecting to mainboard.
3.1 SAS Connectors (CH011 / CH021 / CH031 / CH041)
There are four SFF-8482 connectors on this backplane to allow four SATA or SAS drives be
manipulated by hot-swap without powering off the server system in advance.
