Why Cisco Wireless Access Point MAP connects but cannot pass data?
- MMatthew BellAug 2, 2025
If the signal on the access point backhaul channel of your Cisco Wireless Access Point has a high signal-to-noise ratio and a MAP connects to the controller via a parent node but cannot pass data traffic (e.g., pinging the access point fails), this can occur because the default data rate for backhaul control packets is set to 6 Mb/s, and the backhaul data rate is set to auto by the user.
