PLATFORM_STACKPOWER Messages
Error Message PLATFORM_STACKPOWER-4-VERSION_MISMATCH: Major version mismatch in
stack power protocol message on switch [dec]
Explanation A version mismatch exists between the switch and the other stack members. [dec] is the
stack member number.
Recommended Action Ensure that all switches in the power stack are running the same Cisco IOS
software release.
Error Message PLATFORM_STACKPOWER-3-INVALID_TOPOLOGY: Invalid power stack topology
observed by switch [dec] [chars]
Explanation The power stack topology is invalid. The switch is forced into standalone mode.
[dec] is the stack member number. [chars] is a number that explains the reason for the invalid power
stack topology.
Recommended Action Copy the message exactly as it appears on the console or in the system log.
Research and attempt to resolve the error by using the Output Interpreter. Use the Bug Toolkit to
look for similar reported problems. If you still require assistance, open a case with the TAC, or
contact your Cisco technical support representative, and provide the representative with the gathered

member number.
