Emergency Towing
Towing a Disabled Lift Truck:
1. Raise and secure the upright 300 mm (12 in) o the ground.
2. Check that the counterweight is securely
mounted.
3. Block the drive wheels.
4. Tighten the bolts until each brake is fully
released. Do not overtighten.
5. Install an approved tow bar to the tow
pins on each lift truck.
6. Remove the wheel blocks and tow the
disabled lift truck to a designated area.
7. Remove the brake release bolts and
return to them to the appropriate storage
locations before returning the lift truck to service.
