      If there's no audio when using an external hard wired intercom system and Tempest BaseStations are sharing channels on your Clear-Com Intercom System, make sure of the following: there is a 3-pin XLR cable connection for each channel to be shared between the BaseStations; the BaseStation 2-Wire Intercom Type Select Switch is in the correct position; 2-Wire is selected for the relevant channels; and the wired intercom is connected to one of the BaseStations for each channel being shared.

      If there is no audio passing when you're not using an external hard wired intercom system and Tempest BaseStations are sharing intercom channels on your Clear-Com Intercom System, check these: 1. Confirm that no wired intercoms are connected to the system. 2. Confirm a 3-pin XLR cable connection for each channel to be shared, between each of the BaseStations. 3. Set the BaseStation 2-Wire Intercom Type Select Switch to the Clear-Com position. 4. Select 2-Wire for the relevant channels. 5. Ensure only one of the Tempest BaseStations is set to Master Mode.

      If the headset microphone in your Clear-Com Intercom System sounds distorted or cuts off parts of words, this might be the reason: if the microphone gain is set too low, the audio may sound choppy or clip off the first part of words. If the microphone gain is set too high, the audio may sound distorted at higher audio levels.

      To improve the RF range of your Clear-Com Intercom System, try the following: * Position the BaseStation antenna or transceiver as high as possible. * Make sure the BaseStation antenna or transceiver are in an appropriate location and orientation. * Ensure the antenna or transceiver are not near any metal structures or racks. * Check that all antenna connections are secure. * If using multiple Tempest BaseStations nearby, use Accu-Sync. * Set the Network Number for each BaseStation at least four numbers apart.

      If a BeltStation from your Clear-Com Intercom System won't log into the BaseStation, check these things: 1. Make sure the BeltStation is powered ON and has sufficient battery charge. 2. Verify the correct BaseStation is selected on the BeltStation’s “Select Base” menu. 3. Ensure there is an available slot on the BaseStation. 4. Check the Static and Dynamic slot display settings on the BaseStation. 5. Determine if any other BeltStation is logged onto the BaseStation. If none of these steps work, try re-pairing the BeltStation to the BaseStation or attempt to log into another BaseStation, if available. As a final option, follow the memory reset procedure under Factory Defaults.

      If your Clear-Com Intercom System's BeltStation won't pair with the BaseStation, first ensure the BaseStation is powered ON and in Operational Mode. Connect the pairing cable from the BaseStation to the BeltStation and turn the BeltStation power ON. If it still fails, try pairing a different BeltStation or substitute a new pairing cable. As a last resort, restore memory settings to Factory Defaults, or clear the memory completely, and reset the BaseStation memory.
