4.4.5
Use of the aerial part
22. Using the platform control (exercise) station (par. 3.5.1)
carry out the MEWP aerial part operations using the
manipulators described in the same paragraph.
First lift the pantograph, in order to rise from the support. It is
then strictly forbidden to rotate the turret as first movement, since it
could seriously damage the carpentry.
Reaching the maximum outreach allowed (see work
diagram) the arm extension and lowering operations are
disabled: all destabilizing operations prove ineffective, and this
is made possible by means of a positions control device (anti-
overturning device, standard assembled on these machines).
In addition to the aforesaid device, MEWP is over its max.
capacity allowed (200 Kg), the system detects the overload and
blocks the work operations. Furthermore, an acoustic warning
warns the operator about the overload.
4.4.6
Positions control device
23. The MEWP has different stabilization areas, according to
the different combinations of the possible stabilizers
openings . Each stabilizer, can be positioned in three
different configurations, and a system of mechanical
blocks univocally ensures the work area.
4.4.7
Load limiting safety device (OPTIONAL)
24. During the operations of the MEWP aerial part, reaching
the max. load selected, the load limiting safety device
activates. In this case, remove the exceeding load from the
basket until the acoustic warning stops and the relevant
led turns off.
It is strictly forbidden to use the MEWP when the load limiting
device acoustic warning is on.
• Overload until 20 Kg: in this case (signaled by the lighting of
the intermittent block light and by an intermittent acoustic
warning) the operations remain active, even if two signals
warn the user about the danger: the signals will stop only
removing the overload from the basket;
• Overload > 20 kg: in such case, the load limiting safety
device stops all operations (such condition is always
indicated by the lighting of the block pilot light and by a
continuous acoustic warning) of extendable structure: the
operator shall unload the overload from the basket, only in
this way it will be possible to re-use the MEWP.
4.4.8
Setting the MEWP in the transport configuration
25. To set the MEWP in the transport configuration, first
operate the MEWP aerial part in order to withdraw the
telescopic arm, and to lay the boom on its support and
centre the MEWP (using the platform control (exercise)
station (par. 3.5.1)).
26. If the operation has been carried out correctly, three pilot
lights will light: centering, stabilization and consent Picture
16 and Picture 17.
27. Unfasten safety belts, get off the basket using the step
below.
