Safety devices
Blockage/restriction of telescopic boom extension operation or of
the telescopic boom descent once the limit area has been reached
according to the working diagram (moment limit device).
Blockage/restriction of the manoeuvre should the selected lever be
released.
Basket levelling only allowed when the basket is in the transport
position (telescopic boom parked on its support).
Hand pump to execute operation in case of emergency.
Inter-blockage/lock of the stabilizers/outriggers boom operation
- Blockage/restriction of work platform when the MEWP is not
stabilized
- Blockage/restriction of the retraction/extension operation when
the aerial structure is not in the park position
Green warning light evidencing this MEWP is properly stabilized.
Warning light indicating this MEWP is working on 220V electrical
power.
Emergency STOP buttons in the drive position.
Blockage/Dual safety valve on all double acting cylinders.
Max pressure relief valve to protect entire hydraulic circuit.
Max pressure relief valves to protect individual hydraulic parts of
the system.
Fuses to protect electrical and electronic systems.
Boom stop-descent at end of hydraulic piston stroke.
Boom central position end of hydraulic piston stroke.
Stabilizers/outriggers opening at end of hydraulic piston stroke.
Boom lifting-descent end of hydraulic piston stroke in park position
A – Electrical/electronic safety system devices
Key for starting combustion engine on chassis.
Emergency STOP self-blocking buttons placed in both aerial platform
control stations.
Microswitch which stops stabilizers controls when boom and
pantograph have been completely raised and extended
Microswitch for the stabilizer/outrigger hydraulic end stroke
Electrical overloading protection fuses, both on power and control
circuits.
All the machine controls require the presence and action of the
operator.
B – Hydraulic safety devices
Max pressure hydraulic safety valves.
Block valve and parachute valve mounted on the lifting cylinders
Manual pump for the emergency let down system.
Oil flow adjuster for control of boom descent speed.
C – Mechanical safety devices
Hydraulically controlled track drive disc brakes. Brakes automatically
apply when chassis drive is stopped and automatically release when
chassis is driven.
1,10 m (43”) height safety border guardrail on basket.
Basket access self-locking bar.
Basket safety fall arrest belt attachment points.
All safety devices are prone to wear and lose calibration. These
items must be addressed immediately prior to continuing lift operation and
to pass the required annual safety inspection.
Regularly inspect these devices for proper operation and tightness. You
the operator and or owner, ultimately are responsible for the proper and
responsible use this MEWP.
