Chapter 11: Cleaning and Preventive Maintenance
The C Series printer is designed to provide exceptional service with a minimum of
preventive maintenance. CognitiveTPG recommends cleaning the printer on a regular
basis using standard CognitiveTPG printer parts and cleaning supplies.

Exterior is cleaned with a lint-free cloth and, if necessary, a mild detergent solution.
Interior components (printhead, platen roller, media sensor, peel bar, ribbon, and media
paths) are cleaned with a 98% to 99 % pure isopropyl or denatured alcohol or a cleaning
pen every 20,000 inches (508 m) or blown air to remove any particles. The printhead
should be cleaned every 5,000 inches if pre-printed labels are used.

1) Open the print mechanism. Turn the printer o when cleaning the printhead. Make
sure the printhead is completely dry before turning the printer back on.
