The air cleaner element needs to
be cleaned or replaced periodically
(see chart for cleaning/replace-
ment intervals). The air lter
element will need to be cleaned
more often if Dirt Bike is ridden in
muddy, wet, or dusty conditions. A
clean air lter will help the Dirt Bike
run at peak performance allowing
better gas mileage, more power
and will protect the engine from the
damaging effects of dirt entering
the engine.
Clean air lter frequently if
Dirt Bike is driven in wet,
muddy or dusty conditions.
Driving in the above
conditions without cleaning
frequently can plug up the air
lter which can cause poor
gas mileage, low power and
cause damage to the engine.
CAUTION
Air lter removal, inspec-
tion and cleaning instruc-
tions
1, Locate air lter (1) attached to
the carburetor.
2. Remove lter by loosening
clamp (2) which holds the Air lter
to the carburetor.
3. Remove the Air lter (2) and
inspect. If lter is damaged or is
saturated with debris beyond clean-
ing, replace.
4. To clean Air lter, tap gently on a
hard surface to loosen and remove
dirt and debris. Use compressed
air to blow from the inside out any
excess debris. Note: Be careful not
to use too high of air pressure while
blowing out the air lter. Too much
air pressure could damage lter.
5. Re-install air lter to carburetor
