Why is the board edge curved after using my Craftex Power Tool?
    • B
      Beth SimmonsSep 5, 2025
This can happen if the board isn't held with the same pressure on the infeed and outfeed table during the cut; ensure you hold the board with consistent pressure as it moves over the cutterhead. Also, if the board has too much bow or coil along its length, take limited cuts to remove the high spots before a full pass. Surface plane one face so there is a good surface to place along the fence. It should take 3 to 5 passes to get a perfect edge depending on the state of the board and the depth of cut.

Why is my Craftex Power Tool causing chipped or ripped out pieces?
    • P
      Paul CalhounSep 6, 2025
This issue can be caused by knots or incompatible grain direction in the wood. Check the workpiece for knots and grain; clean stock should be used. Also, nicked or broken cutter inserts can be the problem; turn or replace the cutter insert. Feeding the workpiece too fast can also cause this; reduce the feed rate. Finally, taking too deep of a cut can cause chipping; take a smaller depth in cut, especially when using hard wood.

      Valerie SinghSep 7, 2025
This can happen if you are feeding the workpiece too fast; reduce the feed rate. It can also occur if the cutter inserts are not on the same height in the cutterhead; wipe clean and fix the cutter inserts so they are set on the same level as the cutterhead.

This can be caused by blunt knives, so get new knives. Also, if the wood contains high moisture, let it dry before usage.

Why is my Craftex Lathe vibrating excessively?
    • Y
      ypetersonSep 9, 2025
Excessive vibration in your Craftex Lathe can stem from several issues. First, check the workpiece for warps, out-of-roundness, flaws, or improper preparation; correct this by planing, sawing, or discarding the workpiece. Other potential causes include worn spindle bearings (replace them), a worn belt (replace it), loose motor mount bolts or handles (tighten them), or the lathe being on an uneven surface (shim the lathe bed or adjust the feet).
