ADJUST THE BRAKE PAD
IMPORTANT: An adjustment is only necessary if the brake
pad has become loose or has been removed.
1. Move the ignition switch key to the OFF position to stop the
engine.
2. Remove the top cover. See “Remove The Top Cover”.
2. Remove the belt cover. See “Remove The Belt Cover”.
3. Temporarily, tie the auger drive lever to the handle. This will
engage the drive system.
4. Loosen the screw (A, Figure 21) and nut on the brake pad
arm (B).
5. Set the clearance between the brake pad (C) and the drive
belt (D) to 1/8 inch (3 mm).
6. Tighten the screw and nut on the brake pad arm.
7. Untie the auger control lever from the handle.

REMOVE THE DISCHARGE CHUTE
WARNING: Always turn unit off, remove ignition key
and disconnect the spark plug wire before making any
repairs or adjustments.
1. Remove the three fasteners (A, Figure 20) that secure the
chute (B) to the chute neck (C).
2. Remove the chute.
