DoNOTholdthe keyintheSTARTpositionforlongerthanten
secondsat a time.Doingso maycausedamagetoyourengine's
electricstarter.
6. Aftertheenginestarts,deactivatethe chokecontroland placethe
throttlecontrolinthe FASTposition.
NOTE: DoNOTleavethechokecontrolonwhileoperatingthetractor.
Doingsowill resultina "rich"fuel mixtureandcausethe engineto run
poorly.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
If youstrikea foreignobject,stopthe engine,disconnectthe spark
plugwire(s)andgroundagainsttheengine.Thoroughlyinspectthe
machineforanydamage.Repairthedamagebeforerestartingand
operating
1. Ifthe bladesareengaged,placethePTO(BladeEngage)leverin
thedisengaged(OFF)position.
2. Turnthe ignitionkeycounterclockwisetotheSTOPposition.
3. Removethe keyfromtheignitionswitchto preventunintended
starting.
DRIVING THE TRACTOR
Avoidsuddenstarts,excessivespeedand suddenstops.
Donotleavetheseatof thetractorwithoutfirstplacingthePTO
(BladeEngage)leverin the disengaged(OFF)position,depressing
thebrakepedalandengagingthe parkingbrake.If leavingthetractor
unattended,alsoturnthe ignitionkeyoff andremovethe key.
Alwayslookdownandbehindbeforeandwhile backinguptoavoida
back-overaccident.
1. Depressthebrakepedalto releasetheparkingbrakeandthen let
thepedalup.
2. Movethethrottleleverintothe FAST(rabbit)position.
3. Placethe shiftleverineitherthe FORWARDor REVERSE
position.
IMPORTANT: DoNOTuse theshiftleverto changethedirection
oftravelwhenthetractoris in motion.Alwaysusethebrakepedalto
bringthe tractorto acompletestopbeforeshifting.
4. Graduallybeginto applypressureto thedrivepedal.Thefurther
downthepedalis pushed,thefasterthetractorwilltravelinthe
desireddirectionbasedon the positionof the shift lever.
5. Thelawntractoris broughtto a stopby releasingthedrive pedal
andthen depressingthe brakepedal.
Beforeleavingthe operator'spositionfor anyreason,disengagethe
blades,placetheshift leverinneutral,engagethe parkingbrake,
shutengineoff andremovethe key.
Whenstoppingthetractorforany reasonwhileon agrasssurface,
always:
1. Placethe shift leverinneutral,
2. Engagethe parkingbrake,
3. Shutengineoffand removethe key.Doingsowill minimizethe
possibilityofhavingyourlawn"browned"byhotexhaustfrom
yourtractor'srunningengine.
