iMPORTANT:The V-beltfoundon yourtractoris speciallydesigned
toengageanddisengagesafely.A substitute(non-OEM)V-beltcan
bedangerousby notdisengagingcompletely.Fora properworking
machine,useidenticalequipmentbeltsas listedinthe partspagesof
thisOperator'sManual.
Tochangeor replacethedeckbeltonyourtractor,proceedasfollows:
1. Removethedeckas instructedearlierinthis section.
2. Removethe beltcoversfromthe spindlepulleysbyremovingthe
hexscrewsthatfastenthecoversto the deck.SeeFig.23.
3. itmayalso benecessaryto loosenthe hex nuton the leftdeck
idlerpulleytogetthe beltoffthe pulleyandaroundthebeltguard.
4. Carefullyremovethe deckbeltfromaroundthe twospindle
pulleysandthetwo deckidlerpulleys,SeeFig,23,
5. Toplacethenewbelt,beginby routingthe beltaroundthe two
outerspindlepulleysasshowninFig,23,
6. Thenroutethebeltaroundthe twodeckidlerpulleysas shownin
Fig.23,
7. Retightenthebelt keeperrodloosenedearlier.
8. Remountthebeltguardsremovedearlier,
9. Re-installthedeck, makingsurethebelt remainsroutedaround
thepulleysas instructed.Thecompletebeltroutingisshownin
Fig,23.
10. Pulltherightside ofthe belt,and placethe narrowVside ofthe
beltintothe PTOpulley.
11. Whileholdingthebelt andpulleytogether,rotatethe pulleytothe
left.Continueholdingand rotatingthe pulleyandbelt untilthe belt
is fullyrolledintothe PTOpulley.
PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
Neverattempttoadjustthe brakeswhiletheengineis running.Always
disengagePTO(BladeEngageLever),moveshiftleverintoneutral
position,stopengineandremovekeytopreventunintendedstarting.
Ifthetractordoesnot cometoa completestopwhentheclutch-brake
pedalis completelydepressed,or if thetractor'srearwheelscan roll
withtheparkingbrakeapplied,thebrakeis inneedof adjustment.
