YOUR W ARRANT'/RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
TheCaliforniaAir ResourcesBoardand MTDConsumerGroupInc.arepleasedto explainthe evaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour2007 lawn
mower.InCalifornia,newlawn mowermustbe designed,builtand equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupInc.must
warranttheEECSonyour fawnmowerfor theperiodof timelistedbelowprovidedthere hasbeennoabuse,neglectorimpropermaintenanceofyour lawnmower.
Your EECSmay includepartssuch asthecarburetor,fueFinjeetionsystem,the ignitionsystem, catalyticconverter,fueltanks, fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,
canisters,filters, vapor hoses,clamps,connectors,andotherassociatedemissi0n-relatedcomponents.
Where a warrantable conditionexists, MTD ConsumerGroupInc. will repairyour lawn mowerat no costto you includingdiagnosis,partsandlabor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfortwoyears,Ifanyevaporativeemission-refutedpartonyourequipmentisdefective,thepartwillbe
repairedorreplacedbyMTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As thelawn mowerowner,you areresponsiblefor performanceofthe requiredmaintenancefistedin yourowner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroupInc. recom-
mendsthat you retainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyour lawn mower,butMTDConsumerGroupinc.cannotdenywarranty solelyfor the lackof receipts.
Asthe lawnmower owner,you should howeverbeawarethat MTDConsumerGroupInc. maydenyyou warrantycoverageifyour lawnmoweroraparthasfailed
due to abuse,neglect,or improper maintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
You areresponsiblefor presentingyour lawn mowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc's distributioncenterorservicecenteras soonas the problemexists.Thewar-
runty repairs shouldbe completedina reasonableamountof time, not to exceed30days. If you havea question regardingyour warranty coverage,you should
contact the MTDConsumerGroup Inc. ServiceDepartmentat1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupInc.warrantsto theultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat thefawnmoweris:Designed,built and equippedso as to
Conformwithall applicableregulations;andfreefrom defectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipthat causethe lailure ofawarrantedpartto beidenticalin el! material
respectsto that partas describedin MTDConsumerGroup Inc'sapplicationforcertification.
The warrantyperiodbeginson thedatethe lawn moweris deliveredtoan ultimatepurchaserorfirst placedinto service.Thewarrantyperiod istwoyears.
Subjectto certainconditions and exclusionsas statedbelow,thewarrantyon emission-relatedparts isasfollows:
1. Any warrantedpartthat is not scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenanceinthe written instructions suppfied,iswarrantedfor the warrantyperiod
statedabove.I1the part fails during the periodof warranty coverage,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc.according to subsec-
tion (4) below.Anysuch partrepairedor replacedunder warrantywill be warrantedforthe remainderofthe period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledonlyfor regular inspectioninthewritteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedfor the warrantyperiodstatedabove.Any
such partrepairedor replacedunder warrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledfor replacementas required maintenanceinthe writteninstructionssupplied iswarrantedfor the periodof time before
the first scheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If thepartfailsbeforethe firstscheduledreplacement,the partwiltbe repairedor replacedby MTDCon-
sumerGroupinc.accordingto subsection(4) below.Anysuchpartrepairedor replacedunder warrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainderof the periodprior
to thefirst scheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementof anywarrantedpartunderthe warranty provisionshereinmustbe performed at awarrantystationat nochargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswillbe providedat allof our distribution centersthat arefranchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Thelawn mowerownerwill not be chargedfor diagnosticlabor that is directly associatedwith diagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,pro-
videdthat suchdiagnosticwork isperformedata warranty station.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc. is liablefor damagesto other engineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedbya failureunderwarrantyof any warranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarrantyperiod statedabove,MTDConsumerGroupInc.willmaintainasupplyofwarrantedpartssufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor such parts.
9. Anyreplacementpartmaybe usedinthe performanceof any warrantymaintenanceor repairsand must beprovidedwithoutchargeto theowner.Such use
will not reducethewarrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroup Inc.
10. Add-on or modified partsthatare not exemptedbythe Air ResourcesBoardmay notbe used.Theuseotany non-exemptedadd-on or modified partsby the
ultimatepurchaserwill begrounds for disallowinga warranty claim.MTDConsumerGroupInc.will not be liableto warrantfailuresof warrantedparts caused
by the useof anon-exemptedadd-on or modified part.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairor replacementof any warrantedpart otherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfrom suchwarrantycoverageif MTDConsumerGroup
Inc. demonstratesthat thelawn mowerhas beenabused,neglected,or improperlymaintained,and that such abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenancewasthe
directcauseof the needfor repairor replacementof the part. Thatnotwithstanding, anyadjustmentofa componentthat hasa factory installed,and properly
operating,adjustmentlimiting deviceis still eligib]efor warranty coverage.Thefollowing emissionwarranty partslistarecovered:FuelLine,FuelLineClamps.
