Inspect
Oil pump drive gear(1)
Oil pump driven gear(2)
Look for cracks, wear or damage.
Replace if necessary.

Install
Pins
Springs
Balancer drive gear
(on the buffer boss)
Plate
Cir clip
Balancer drive gear(1)
Balancer driven gear(2)
Note:
Align the punch mark (a) on the
balancer drive gear with the keyway
slot in (b).
Look for damage or wear, if it is
necessary to replace either one
replace them both as a set.
Note:
Balancer driven gear
Timing chain
Timing chain guides
Look for cracks, stiffness in links
if necessary replace the timing
Chain and camshaft sprocket as
a set.
Align the punch mark (a) on the
balancer drive gear with the punch
mark (b) on the balancer driven gear.
Lock washer(new)
Balance driven gear nut
110 Nm or 81 ft lbs
Note:
Use an aluminum plate between the
gears to hold them while torque is
applied. Apply molybdenum disulfide
grease to the threads of the nut.
