INFORMATION
For a multi outdoor unit system, it is not required to connect all charge ports to a
refrigerant tank.
The refrigerant will be charged with ±22 kg in 1 hour time at an outdoor temperature
of 30°CDB or with ±6kg at an outdoor temperature of 0°CDB.
If you need to speed up in case of a multiple outdoor system, connect the refrigerant
tanks to each outdoor unit.
NOTICE
▪ The refrigerant charging port is connected to the piping inside the unit. The unit's
internal piping is already factory charged with refrigerant, so be careful when
connecting the charge hose.
▪ After adding the refrigerant, do not forget to close the lid of the refrigerant
charging port. The tightening torque for the lid is 11.5 to 13.9N•m.
▪ In order to ensure uniform refrigerant distribution, it may take the compressor
±10 minutes to start up after the unit has started operation. This is not a
malfunction.
6 Proceed with one of the following:
6a "Step 6a: To automatically charge refrigerant"[4104]
6b "Step 6b: To manually charge refrigerant"[4106]
INFORMATION
After charging refrigerant:
▪ Record the additional refrigerant amount on the refrigerant label provided with
the unit and attach it to the backside of the front panel.
▪ Input the additional refrigerant amount into the system via setting [2‑14].
▪ Perform the test procedure described in "21Commissioning"[4145].
18.4.6 Step 6a: To automatically charge refrigerant
INFORMATION
The automatic refrigerant charging has limits as described below. Out of these limits,
the system cannot operate the automatic refrigerant charging:
▪ Outdoor temperature: 0~43°CDB.
▪ Indoor temperature: 10~32°CDB.
▪ Total indoor unit capacity: ≥80%.
The remaining additional refrigerant charge can be charged by operating the
outdoor unit by means of the automatic refrigerant charge operation mode.
