MAN-PTS-GB, Revision 9, BSC, 15-FEB-2017 43/46
Problem
Probable cause Solution
11
The PTS filter is plugged up.
The discharge pressure is too
weak or the supply of pressure is
too low.
The filter is wet.
The product produces a crust on
the filter due to a chemical
reaction.
The transferred product is too fine
or sticky.
Verify the pressure supply, see
point 10.
Avoid cleaning the filter with a
liquid. Replace the filter
membrane after having
cleaned the PTS.
Verify the compatibility
between the different
products which were
transferred.
Consult the manufacturer.
12
Electrostatic discharges are
visible during the transfer.
Conductive parts of the system
are not earthed.
Conductive pieces are isolated
by non-conductive parts.
The reinforcement cable of the
transparent PVC hose is not
earthed.
Measure the resistance and
earth all components.
Make sure that all parts are
conductive.
Earth the reinforcement
cable.
13
Vapor rises back into the
PTS body.
The opening delay between the
pressure valve and the powder
outlet valve is not long enough.
No pressure during the discharge.
The pressure in the equipment to
be filled is greater than the
discharge pressure.
The powder outlet valve is no
longer tight.
Increase the opening delay
between the pressure valve
and the powder outlet valve
(Timer 17.2 for a pneumatic
control panel).
Verify the discharge pressure,
see point 10.
Increase the discharge
pressure. The difference in
pressure must be at least 1
bar.
Replace the sleeve of the
powder outlet valve.
Install an isolation valve under
the PTS.
