MAN-PTS-GB, Revision 9, BSC, 15-FEB-2017 44/46
Problem
Probable cause Solution
14
A valve works incorrectly
(stays open/shut or closes
incompletely or only with
difficulty).
The valve is incorrectly
connected to the control panel.
The butterfly valve is incorrectly
installed.
The tightening torque of the ball
in a 3-piece ball valve is too tight.
The actuator of the valve is
undersized.
The pressure supply is too low.
The actuator is defective.
The sleeve of the butterfly valve is
damaged.
The ball valve is obstructed by
the presence of powder behind
the ball.
The actuator of the powder
outlet valve is undersized in the
case of a PTS body which is full,
see point 5.
The powder inlet valve does not
open due to the restriction valve
(Pos. 10.1) inside the panel which
is too tight (only for a pneumatic
control panel).
Correct the pneumatic
connections according to the
instructions in the manual.
Verify the centering of the
butterfly valve.
Loosen the tightening bolts.
Install a larger actuator.
Increase the pressure supply
according to the
specifications of the actuator.
Replace the actuator.
Replace the sleeve.
Clean the valve.
Decrease the suction time.
Increase the size of the
actuator.
Loosen the restriction valve
(Pos. 10.1) until the powder
inlet valve opens.
15
The PTS is not tight.
The bolts as well as the rapid
couplings are not tightened.
The gaskets of the PTS filter have
not been installed correctly.
The installation of a valve is not
tight.
The vacuum or powder hose is
not tight.
Tighten each bolt and rapid
coupling.
Install the filter gaskets
correctly.
Install additional gaskets.
Look for the vacuum leak and
make it tight.
