Replacing the Optical Drive

Removing the Optical Drive

1. Follow the instructions in Before You Begin.

2. Follow the instructions in Removing the Palm Rest.

3. Remove the two screws that secure the optical drive to the computer base.

4. Release the connector latch to disconnect the optical drive cable from the system board connector.

5. Lift the optical drive out of the computer base.
Replacing the Optical Drive

1. Place the optical drive back in position and replace the two screws that secure the optical drive to the computer base.

2. Connect the optical drive cable to the system board connector.

3. Follow the instructions in Replacing the Palm Rest.
