4. During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure all data is backed up properly.

5. Disconnect any external peripherals and cable.

6. Disconnect all telephone or network cables from the computer.

7. Press and eject any installed cards from the ExpressCard slot and the 8-in--1 memory card reader.

8. Disconnect your computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

9. Turn the computer over.

10. Slide the battery release latch to the side.

11. Slide the battery out of the battery bay.

12. Press the power button to ground the system board.
