  If no milk froth is forming when making a cappuccino with your DeLonghi Coffee Maker, consider these possible causes: Ensure the ring is in the "FOAM" position, not the "FLAT" (NO FROTH) position. Use semi-skimmed milk at refrigerator temperature, as milk that isn't cold enough can prevent proper frothing. A dirty cappuccino maker can also cause this issue; clean it as described in section "10. Cleaning the cappuccino maker after use". Finally, scale in the water circuit may be the problem, so descale your appliance.

Third, the filter might be blocked, or the perforated filter might be missing, so clean the filter and ensure the perforated filter is correctly placed. Fourth, make sure the water tank is correctly inserted and the valves on the bottom are open by pressing the tank down lightly. Lastly, scale in the water circuit could be the problem, so descale the machine.

  To change the type of coffee in your DeLonghi Coffee Maker: Empty the beans container (if necessary, operate the coffee mill without beans or use a vacuum cleaner to remove any remaining beans). Attach the filter holder and operate the coffee mill a number of times without beans to free the coffee guide. Attach the filter holder to the outlet of the mill, lining it up with, then turning it to the right. Grinding begins when the filter holder reaches the position and stops automatically. Repeat until the filter is empty. Place the new coffee in the beans container. If the amount of coffee ground is not enough to reach the “perfect quantity”, proceed as described in section "4.5 Adjusting the quantity of ground coffee in the filter".

  If there's too much coffee in the filter after grinding with your DeLonghi Coffee Maker, the "Smart Tamping Station" may need cleaning. Clean as described in section “13.11 Cleaning the "tamping station", then grind again. It could also be that the quantity of ground coffee needs adjusting; adjust the quantity of coffee with the dial, following the instructions in section "4.5 Adjusting the quantity of ground coffee in the filter". If the dial is already in the max. position, proceed as described in section "12.6 Extra grinding adjustment".

In this case, press the button corresponding to the light. The grinding could also be too fine, in which case you should extract the filter holder and repeat the operations, bearing in mind the indications in section "4.5 Adjusting the quantity of ground cofefe in the filter" and table "16.
