The water circuit is empty.

The water circuit is empty Press "OK" to ll the circuit. Delivery stops au-
tomatically. It is normal for there to be water
in the drip tray (A14) after lling.
If the problem persists, make sure the water
tank (A9) is fully inserted.
A new water softener lter has been
inserted (D4)
Make sure the instructions for inserting
the new lter have been followed correctly
(section “15.1 Installing the lter” and “15.2
Replacing or removing the lter”). If the prob-
lem continues, remove the lter (section “15.2
Replacing or removing the lter”).
Energy saving is enabled. To disable energy saving, proceed as described
in section “6.4 General”.
The machine must be descaled. The descaling procedure described in section
“14. Descaling” needs to be performed.
The lter must be replaced (D4) Replace the lter or remove it as described in
section “15. Water softener lter”.
Remember that the milk carafe (E) must be
cleaned
Turn the froth adjustment dial (E3) to the
Clean position.
18. TROUBLESHOOTING
Possible malfunctions of the machine are listed below.
If the problem cannot be resolved as described, contact Customer Service.
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY
The appliance does not come on The cord is not plugged into the mains
socket.
Plug into the mains socket (g. 1).
Coee not hot The internal circuits of the appliance have
cooled down because 2-3 minutes have
elapsed since the last coee was made.
Before making the coee, heat the internal cir-
cuits by rinsing, using the rinse function (see
section “6.1 Rinsing”).
Coee temperature setting too low. Set a higher coee temperature in the set-
tings menu (C6) (see section “6.6 Coee
temperature”).
The cups were not preheated. Warm the cups by rinsing them with hot water
(Please note: the hot water function can be
used).
The machine needs descaling Proceed as described in section “14. Descal-
ing”. Next, check the water hardness (“Meas-
uring water hardness”) and make sure the ma-
chine setting matches the local water supply
hardness (“Setting water hardness”).
