The Delta Dore Tybox Bus OT is a thermostat designed for controlling heating systems, offering a range of modes and programmable features to optimize comfort and energy efficiency. It features a clear digital display and a selector knob for easy navigation and setting adjustments.
Function Description:
The Tybox Bus OT functions as a central control unit for your heating system. It allows users to set desired temperatures, program heating schedules, and select various operating modes to suit different needs and periods of absence. The thermostat communicates with the boiler, managing heating and, if applicable, Domestic Hot Water (DHW) based on user settings and measured temperatures.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Temperature Adjustment Range: Temperatures can be adjusted from 5°C up to a maximum comfort temperature (default 28°C, configurable).
- Temperature Correction: The measured temperature can be corrected from -5°C to +5°C (default 0°C).
- Programming Accuracy: Programming can be set in either 30-minute or 1-hour increments.
- Clock Display: The clock can be displayed in either 24-hour or 12-hour (AM/PM) format.
- Boiler Maintenance Reminder: Configurable from 0 to 24 months, with 0 months disabling the reminder.
- Power Failure Handling: In case of an extended power failure (over 3 hours), the clock resets to 12:00 AM on the failure date and must be rechecked and set.
Usage Features:
The thermostat offers several operating modes:
- Shutdown Mode: Turns off the heating. Only the information button is active in this mode.
- Auto Mode: Follows the daily programmed schedule. The current setting (Comfort, Economy, or Frost Protection) is indicated by a flashing segment on the time display.
- Comfort Mode: Maintains a higher, comfortable temperature (default 19°C, configurable).
- Economy Mode: Maintains a lower, energy-saving temperature (default 15.5°C, configurable).
- Frost Protection Mode: Maintains a minimum temperature to prevent freezing (default 7°C, configurable).
- Timed Comfort Mode: Temporarily suspends the automatic program, applying a selected temperature for a programmed period (1 to 23 hours). This mode can be canceled by pressing the 'C' button or changing the mode.
- Absence Mode: Protects the home from frost during extended absences (1 to 365 days). Users set the number of days and the desired absence temperature (default 8°C, configurable). This mode can be canceled by pressing the 'C' button or changing the mode.
Setting Adjustments:
- Setting the Time: The selector knob is turned to PROG, and then the time, minutes, day, month, and year are set sequentially, confirming each with 'OK'.
- Setting Temperatures: The selector knob is turned to the desired mode (Comfort, Economy, or Frost Protection), and the temperature is adjusted using the '+' and '-' buttons, then confirmed with 'OK'.
- Programming: The thermostat comes with a default program (Comfort from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM). Users can create custom Comfort and Economy periods for each day of the week. The programming process involves selecting time segments and assigning Comfort or Economy modes. A "COPY" function allows copying the program to the next day by pressing 'OK' for 3 seconds.
User Configuration (accessed in Shutdown mode):
- CF01 - Correcting the temperature measured: Adjusts the displayed temperature to match an external thermometer.
- CF02 - Temperature displayed: Determines whether the measured temperature or the setting temperature is displayed.
- CF03 - Maximum comfort temperature: Sets the upper limit for the comfort temperature.
- CF04 - Thermostat back-lighting: Enables or disables the backlighting (off after timeout).
- CF05 - Clock display type: Selects 12-hour or 24-hour format.
- CF06 - Summer/Winter time: Enables or disables automatic summer/winter time adjustment.
- CF07 - Programming accuracy: Sets programming increments to 30 minutes or 1 hour.
- CF08 - Boiler maintenance reminder: Configures a reminder for boiler maintenance.
Navigation and Interface:
- The selector knob is the primary tool for navigating through modes and settings.
- '+' and '-' buttons are used for adjusting values.
- 'OK' button confirms settings.
- The 'C' button is used to cancel actions or exit certain modes.
- The 'i' (information) button displays various system information, including:
- Current temperature setting or measured temperature.
- Outdoor temperature (if an outdoor sensor is connected).
- Required and real boiler water flow temperature.
- DHW temperature (if controlled by the thermostat).
- Boiler maintenance counter.
- Fault codes (e.g., maintenance required, low water pressure, burner fault, air pressure fault, high water temperature).
Maintenance Features:
- Boiler Maintenance Counter (CF08): Allows users to set a period for boiler maintenance reminders. The counter can be initialized by pressing 'C' for 5 seconds in the information screen.
- Fault Display: The 'i' button provides access to fault codes, which can help in diagnosing issues with the heating system.
General Usage Notes:
- If no action is taken on the selector or buttons for 60 seconds (or 30 seconds during setting adjustments), the thermostat returns to the default display or Auto mode.
- The backlighting switches on or off depending on the CF04 setting.
- The display shows '--.-°C' if no temperature information is available for a specific item.
