Do you have a question about the DELTA DORE Tybox 1117 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Tybox 1117 is a programmable thermostat designed for controlling heating systems, offering both weekly (PROGx7) and daily (PROGx1) programming options. It provides precise temperature control and various features to optimize energy consumption and user comfort.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Tybox 1117 is to regulate the temperature in a room by controlling a boiler or heat pump. It operates in several modes:

  • Automatic Mode (AUTO): The thermostat follows a pre-programmed schedule, automatically switching between Comfort, Economy, and Frost Protection temperatures based on the time of day and day of the week. A pre-heat function anticipates temperature rises to ensure the desired Comfort temperature is reached at the scheduled time.
  • Manual Mode: Allows the user to set a constant temperature (between 5°C and 30°C) that overrides any programming.
  • Absence Mode: Designed for periods when the user is away, this mode sets the heating to Frost Protection and allows for a return date to be specified, after which the thermostat reverts to its initial mode (AUTO or Manual).
  • Off Mode: Switches off the heating system, with the device only displaying the room temperature.
  • Override Function: In AUTO mode, users can temporarily change the setpoint temperature until the next programmed change.

The device includes an information button (i) that provides access to various data depending on the operating mode:

  • Room temperature or setpoint temperature (configurable via Menu 2-04).
  • Boiler/heat pump operating hours meter and remaining days until maintenance (if Menu 2-07 is active).
  • Fault indications (e.g., low batteries).

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: 2 x 1.5 V Alkaline batteries (LR03-AAA).
  • Insulation Class: Class II.
  • Output Contact: Change-over contact, 2 A max., 230V ~.
  • Automated Action Type: 1.C.
  • Dimensions: 80 x 103 x 25 mm.
  • Protection Class: IP 30.
  • Pollution Levels: Installation in an environment with normal pollution levels.
  • Storage Temperature: -10°C to +70°C.
  • Operating Temperature: -10°C to +40°C.
  • Ball Test Temperature: 75°C (Housing), 100°C (Terminal block).
  • Rated Impulse Voltage: 2,500V.

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The thermostat should be mounted on a wall at a recommended height of 1.5m, away from heat sources or air flows. The wire entry into the flush-mounted box must be plugged to prevent air movements. It should not be installed on a wall in contact with the outside or an unheated room.
  • Mounting/Connection: Involves switching off power, separating the box from its base, connecting flexible or rigid cables (max 1.5 mm² cross-section) for circulator control and thermostat input, inserting batteries (non-lithium, correct orientation), selecting weekly or daily programming via a switch, closing and locking the box, and finally turning on the power.
  • Time and Date Setting: Allows users to set the current day, month, year, hour, and minutes using the knob and +/- buttons.
  • Configuration Menus (Menu 1 & Menu 2): These menus allow for detailed customization of the thermostat's operation:
    • Menu 1-02 Programme duration: Sets programming increments (60 min, 30 min, 15 min).
    • Menu 1-03 Pre-heat activation/deactivation: Enables or disables the pre-heat function.
    • Menu 1-08 Controlling the Comfort temperature: Determines if Comfort temperature is controlled by the Tybox or by individual radiator thermostats.
    • Menu 1-09 Anti-seize activation/deactivation: Activates or deactivates a function that regularly starts the circulator during off periods (5 minutes/week) to prevent seizing.
    • Menu 2-01 Locking or unlocking the settings: Authorizes or locks changes to programming and setpoint temperatures.
    • Menu 2-02 Correcting the measured temperature: Allows for calibration of the displayed temperature (adjusts from -5°C to 5°C in 0.1°C increments).
    • Menu 2-04 Temperature displayed in AUTO mode: Chooses between displaying the setpoint temperature or the room temperature in AUTO mode.
    • Menu 2-05 12h/24h time and date format: Selects between 24-hour and 12-hour time formats.
    • Menu 2-06 Automatic summer/winter changeover: Enables or disables automatic daylight saving time adjustments.
    • Menu 2-08 Control time base: Configures the control algorithm based on heater type and building characteristics (e.g., 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes for PID control or "tor" for On-off control with hysteresis).
    • Menu 2-11 Hysteresis setting: (If 2-08 = tor) Adjusts the hysteresis value for On-off control (0.2°C to 2°C in 0.1°C increments).
  • Programming: Users can choose from pre-set programs (P1-P5) or customize their own daily or weekly schedules, defining Economy and Comfort periods. A "COPY" function allows easy duplication of programs from one day to the next.
  • Programme Verification: Allows users to review their programmed schedules.
  • Return to Initial Programme: Resets the thermostat to its factory default programs.
  • Adjusting Temperature Settings: Allows setting Comfort, Economy, and Frost Protection temperatures within specified ranges.

Maintenance Features:

  • Boiler/Heat Pump Maintenance Reminder (Menu 2-07): Allows setting a reminder for maintenance after a specified number of days (1 to 365 days).
  • Resetting Boiler/Heat Pump Operating Hours Meter (Menu 2-17): Resets the meter tracking the operating hours of the heating system.
  • Battery Replacement: The thermostat indicates low batteries with a symbol. Users have approximately 30 seconds to replace the two 1.5 V alkaline batteries (LR03 or AAA) before the time setting is reset. Configuration and programming are saved during power loss.
  • Low Battery Warning (dEF21): If the batteries are not changed within one month of the low battery warning, the display shows "dEF21," indicating that batteries must be changed.
  • Settings Reset: Factory settings can be restored for individual menus (Menu 1 or Menu 2) or for the entire device.
