Using Locks
TV-14—Parents Strongly Cautioned. This program contains some
material that many parents would find unsuitable for children under 14
years of age. Parents are strongly urged to exercise greater care in
monitoring this program and are cautioned against letting children under the
age of 14 watch unattended. This program may contain one or more of the
following: intensely suggestive dialogue (D), strong coarse language (L),
intense sexual situations (S), or intense violence (V).
TV-MA—Mature Audience Only. This program is specifically designed to
be viewed by adults and therefore may be unsuitable for children under 17.
This program may contain one or more of the following: crude indecent
language (L), explicit sexual activity (S), or graphic violence (V).
Content Labels—TV Parental Guidelines may have one or more letters
added to the basic rating to let parents know when a show may contain
violence, sex, adult language, or suggestive dialogue
.
D—Suggestive dialogue (usually means talks about sex)
L—Coarse or crude language
S—Sexual situations
V—Violence
FV—Fantasy violence (children’s programming only)
6. Select the expanded rating code(s), if you want to also lock these ratings.
7. To unlock a rating code, highlight the code and press SELECT.
8. Select the
Done option to save the changes.
9. If the receiver is not locked, you must lock it to put the locks you just
created into effect by selecting
Lock System.
Creating or Changing Channel Locks
You can lock any channel, including pay per view channels.
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Select the
Locks option.
3. If the receiver is locked, enter the password using the number pad buttons.
The receiver displays stars (*) as you enter the digits of the password. When
you enter the fourth digit of the password, the receiver highlights the OK
option. Press the SELECT button.
