  An inaccurate temperature reading from your Dittmann Thermometer may be due to a dirty infrared sensor, so clean it. Ensure you are using the thermometer correctly, following all operating instructions for proper measurement. Both the device and the patient should be in the same room for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Only use the thermometer indoors, and avoid holding it for extended periods; instead, place it on a table to adjust to room temperature.

  If the LCD display on your Dittmann Thermometer is blank after inserting batteries, first, remove any debris from the battery compartment. Then, replace the batteries with fresh ones, ensuring correct polarity. Check the battery contacts and realign if necessary. As a next step, remove the batteries and reinsert them after about 3 seconds. If the measured temperature is outside the range of 32.0 °C/89.6 °F to 42.9 °C/109.3 °F, observe the notices in the user manual. If none of these steps work, contact the manufacturer or vendor.
